My Anti-Drug

I was exceedingly sad to find out that I had missed the free cone day at Ben and Jerry’s! Every year around spring Ben and Jerry’s celebrate their anniversary by giving out free ice cream cones at select stores. This year, I the great ice cream lover, missed the FREE ICE CREAM. * sob *

God must have heard my whimpers of deep despair –ok maybe my sighs of dissatisfaction–and produced the 31 cent Scoop Night at Baskin Robins! So it’s not free ice cream, but it’s for a great cause! So the National Firefighter’s Foundation in partnership with Baskin Robins are hosting this event to raise funds for families of fallen heros, to provide training to prevent injury and death in the line of duty, and to promote fire prevention awareness in the community.

Many of us remember 9/11 and the great heroism of the Firefighters….so step out, get your practically free ice cream and support these guys and gals who risk their lives for us.

When: Wednesday, May 2nd
Where: Your Local Baskin Robbins
What Time: 5p.m. to 10p.m.

Just so you know, I am not being compensated by anyone or any organization to tell you about this.

This post is in memory of Rena, who lost her life in 9/11 and all the great people who risked their lives to help others on that infamous day.

Getting ready to head out for the night and I can’t get over how great the Rosemary Mint Shampoo from Carol’s Daughter makes my hair feel.

I love the refreshing and clean scent! A great shower, and some music for the hot spring evening:….hmmmm…

Fun Tests Online

I have come across quite a few tests online that are fun to take, although I will not vouch for their accuracy.

In it’s own class of interesting online stuff is the gift finder at Imagini™. It was incredibly accurate at picking gifts for me…too good actually. Time to padlock the wallet.

Hmmm…they are fun though! Check them out and share!

Oh the rain!

It has been raining in NYC since Sunday and it will be raining all week. The rain was so bad in certain parts of the city that subways were flooded, affecting travel routes. I happen to know that outside of the city there were people who had to evacuate their homes. Someone at work was one of those people.

With the inclement weather in plain sight, it seems that some people believe that their bad tempers, attitudes and foul demeanors should follow suit. The prime place for this sort of display is none other than the NYC subway! I dread the morning commute on a sunny day, but on a rainy one…sheesh! It’s what I would call the seventh circle of hell.

The Muppets share my pain too! So there! Click on the Muppet Image on the right for a musical surprise. ^_^

A bit under the weather and planning conference at work (i.e. sick and busy), but I really wanted to say thanks to everyone for their encouraging words about my new endeavor. Hopefully in a few years this little blog will grow and have lots of wonderful stories to tell.

Side note: I bought some interesting fabric and I’m working on something. I won’t say what it is until it’s complete. Only that’s it involves summer! ha! Pictures, posts of the process and much more are forthcoming.

Well it is nice to finally have a little place to keep in touch with all my friends and family. Hope everyone enjoys my adventures as much as I do. It is really bare right now (I just literally published it today), but new posts are forthcoming! So keep checking back! Please check out my About page and Gallery! Love you all and Happy Easter !
